Astragalus (plural is Astragali) is a bone that was commonly used in ancient Greece as a talisman or as a tool for divination. The bone is taken from the ankle of a sheep, goat, or similar animal and is shaped like a small cylinder with two rounded ends. In cases of divination, multiple bones are used.

The ancient Greeks used Astragali for various purposes, including playing games, making decisions, and predicting the future. In divination, the Astragali are cast or tossed and the way it landed is interpreted.
