"We are the Sworn Beneath, the Drowned Brethren, whose lungs drank the deep and whose bones bed the silt. Our voices are lost to the tides, yet in silence we sing beneath hull and keel. Forgotten by the living, we drift where compasses falter, where the moon lies fractured on the swell.

Call us, and we shall stir the waters. We drag memory from the abyss, revealing secrets long sunken—names, wrecks, treacheries never confessed. In rites of unmooring, we sever bindings and break oaths sworn upon false shores. We bring sleep like undertow, pull dreams into fathoms where shadows move with weight and whisper.

Through us, ships vanish. Through us, hearts drown in yearning. We rot the line between sailor and siren. We can knot the winds or still them; summon fog thick enough to blind the eye of heaven. We bless the bottle cast into sea, and curse the mouth that speaks betrayal near salt.

Pour black rum on tide-wet stone, and we shall answer. Place a fishbone charm in your left boot and walk the breakers—we will follow. Let your altar be lashed with rope, soaked in brine, lit by stormlight. We are the tide’s memory, the mariner’s guilt, the ocean’s forgotten prayer. We are not gone—we are waiting."

A concord was struck that whoever owns this effigy, these spirits will assist in their Magickal endeavors…in exchange for payment, of course.

These spirits of drowned sailors, referring to themselves as the Sworn Beneath or the Drowned Brethren, are a legion of drowned-at-sea spirits attached to this vessel, as their anchor point. They are not merely echoes of lives lost at sea—they are the marrow of forgotten tides, the sentient haunt of brine-soaked despair. Having died with the salt of the sea in their mouths and the weight of the abyss in their lungs, they are unbound by compass or course. These spirits do not roam in the light; they rise in mist, emerge through dreams, and cling to the breathless hush beneath the waves. In occult operations, they serve as emissaries of loss, revelation, and obliteration—able to summon, sever, and submerge with the grave patience of the sea.

In magickal workings, they are potent allies for acts of unbinding and reversal. Their very nature is that of departure: from breath, from shore, from oaths. They can be summoned to dissolve ties, to release the practitioner or target from unwanted attachments—whether they be contracts, compulsions, or spiritual fetters. Their touch unravels knots physical and metaphysical. Where others might call angels to sever bonds, the Drowned break them with indifference, as barnacles break hulls. When properly petitioned, they will rot the foundation of harmful pacts, sap the will of tyrants, and render old curses inert by dragging them into the depths, never to be spoken again.

They are also keepers of submerged knowledge—particularly the kind that has been silenced or buried. Lost names, hidden betrayals, stolen treasures, forbidden rites swallowed by time—all may be retrieved through these spirits.

For acts of concealment and evasion, the Drowned are supreme. They obscure the trail of those who flee, cloud the minds of hunters, and cast illusions thick as fogbanks upon the eyes of one’s enemies. A traveler under their watch may move unseen across water, or metaphorically traverse danger unscathed, hidden by spiritual mist. These spirits can cloud traces, hide intentions, or confuse the judgments of those who pursue with malice. In battle, their influence can cause hesitation, doubt, and disorientation—turning sure-footed opponents into wanderers adrift.

Yet their most terrifying function lies in malefic workings of psychological and spiritual suffocation. When directed, the Drowned Brethren can pull an enemy into a state of emotional drowning—where thoughts become slow, breath becomes burdened, and clarity vanishes like sunlight beneath waves. These spirits can induce a heavy dream-laden sleep riddled with nightmares of flooding, loss, and abandonment. Victims may wake coughing seawater that isn’t there, weeping for shores they’ve never seen. In cases of vengeance or deep justice, the Drowned may be called to ensure one’s guilt or treachery is never washed clean.

They are ancient, not in years but in sorrow, and they remember all that sinks. Their power is tidal—steady, massive, relentless. Working with them is not without cost, for they favor those who have tasted grief, who know the chill of abandonment, and who can stand, unflinching, on the shoreline between life and ruin. But for those who do, the Drowned Brethren offer something no bright spirit can: the certainty that nothing, once buried in the sea, remains untouched.

The further secrets of this group of spirits is up to you to discover....and there are many.
