The Lock of Fixation is a spirit-linked vessel created for workings of attachment, fixation, and the binding of one person toward another.

Its principle is embodied in the object itself. A lock exists to close. To secure. To prevent separation. Once shut, that which has been placed beneath its authority remains held until the lock itself is deliberately opened.

This particular lock has been prepared and linked to a spirit whose office concerns the drawing together and binding of persons. It is intended for workings involving a loved one, lover, partner, desired individual, or another person whom the practitioner wishes to draw into a stronger state of attachment.

Its operation is deliberately simple. An item representing the intended person is attached to the lock. This may take the form of a personal concern, photograph, name-paper, signature, written petition, or another suitable link to the individual - although a personal item is by far the most effective.

The practitioner then closes the lock. The physical act becomes the declaration of the work. As the mechanism catches and the lock shuts, the target is placed beneath the binding influence of the spirit connected to it.

From that point, the spirit is set to work upon the connection: drawing the person closer, strengthening attachment, encouraging continued contact, increasing emotional fixation, and resisting those circumstances which would otherwise encourage distance or separation.

The symbolism requires little explanation. Before the lock closes, the matter remains open. Once it closes, it is bound. The mechanism itself becomes part of the spell. The shackle surrounds. The body of the lock holds. The key determines release.

Attraction opens the road. Binding seeks to close the door behind them. The distinction is important. A person may be attracted and still wander. They may desire and still hesitate. They may approach and later withdraw.

The spirit is given the sympathetic link, the intent is established, and the lock is closed upon the work.

The key should be treated as an important component of the operation. It represents the ability to deliberately undo that which has been closed. So long as the lock remains secured, the symbolism of the operation remains intact. Opening it constitutes the release of the binding.

We therefore recommend that the key be kept separately and securely. There is also a certain elegance to the simplicity of this working. There is no need for elaborate symbolism when the object itself already expresses the entire principle.

Attach the link. State the desired binding. Close the lock. Let the spirit take hold of what the mechanism has symbolically secured. The lock does not chase. It does not persuade. It does not plead. It closes.
