“Magick Without Tears” is a series of digital content created by Baron and Baronessa Araignee from Araignee Arcane Services that serve as simple instructions on various Rituals and Spellwork from various paths and paradigms to supplement your own practices with.

All content is presented faithfully in the authors’ typical and much-loved no-nonsense manner, being clear and to the point without unneeded pomp or flourish. Each booklet within this series will present an instructional Ritual or Spell – some created by the authors themselves, others historical and others still a mixture of both, especially in the cases where the original Rituals have not been documented.

This booklet presents a complete ceremonial rite for the purification, blessing, and protection of the home, drawing inspiration from ancient Roman and Greco-Roman religious and magickal traditions.

The ceremony calls upon Janus, Vesta, the Lares, and the Penates, calling upon their respective powers over thresholds, domestic peace, protection, prosperity, and the well-being of the household.

Particular attention is given to the various entrances of the dwelling. The front door is blessed as a gateway for beneficial influences, the back door serves as a point of expulsion for harmful influences, and all other external thresholds are ritually marked and protected.

An important aspect of this rite is the establishment of a Custos Domus, or Guardian of the House. Whether acknowledging an existing household spirit or petitioning the Gods to appoint one, the ceremony establishes a spiritual guardian charged with watching over the dwelling and its inhabitants.

The ritual also includes the dedication of a special lamp as the guardian's symbolic seat within the household, together with instructions for maintaining an ongoing relationship through regular offerings and observances.

Although constructed in a pseudo-traditional style, this is a practical and comprehensive ceremony designed for contemporary practitioners. The rite has also been performed and tested by us, with excellent results.

This booklet forms one of many to come.

All of the booklets within this series of "Magick Without Tears" are exclusively digital.
