Three bells, countless possibilities for the practitioner.
Bells have held a place in religious, spiritual, and magickal practices for centuries. From announcing the beginning of ceremonies and calling upon spiritual presences to warding off unwanted influences and marking sacred boundaries, the simple ringing of a bell can serve a surprising number of purposes.
The Warder's Bells are a set of three small, antique-style copper bells, originally designed in the traditional grazing-bell fashion. Despite their modest size, they produce a rather loud, distinctive sound, making them particularly suitable for various ritual and folk magickal applications.
In protective workings, bells may be hung near doorways, entrances, windows, or other boundaries of a property, where their ringing can serve as a means of discouraging unwanted spiritual influences.
They can also be incorporated into cleansing practices, with the practitioner ringing them throughout a room or around a particular object to symbolically disperse stagnant or undesirable influences.
For those involved in spirit work, bells may be used to announce the commencement of a calling, attract the attention of a particular spirit, or signal the conclusion of a ceremony. Likewise, they can be employed to punctuate incantations, prayers, blessings, and other ritual actions.
Having three separate bells also allows for some interesting possibilities. They could, for example, be dedicated to different household entrances, assigned to separate spiritual powers, incorporated into a threefold protective working, or simply kept for different ritual purposes.
Their traditional copper construction and rustic appearance make them particularly well suited to folk magick, household protection practices, and more traditional forms of ritual work.
Of course, they need not be restricted to any particular tradition or application. As with most ritual implements, their ultimate purpose depends largely upon the practitioner and the manner in which they are incorporated into a working.
